*****How to Make a Fairy Bed***** Fairies require special accommodations for their tiny sleeping quarters, as only natural materials and a certain blend of the elements make them drowsy enough to slumber in a place other than their very own fairy beds at home.

To make a proper fairy bed, take half a walnut shell for the bed, a fuzzy green leaf for a blanket and a pussy willow for a small fairy pillow. Line up the fairy beds at twilight in the garden at the foot of your most fragrant flowers. In the morning, leaf blankets might be ruffled, indicating the fairies might have tossed and turned a little, but got a good night’s sleep, which is very important for fairies to experience. If they sleep in you may invite them to morning tea.

*****Planting a Fairy Garden***** Line a basket (strawberry plastic baskets work very well.) with moss and fill with a rich potting soil. Fairies are known to love certain types of plants and flowers, including; Johnny- jump-ups, pansies, and primroses. Add some thyme, maidenhair fern, or any light fern and alyssum, or any plants your fairies take a fancy to. Moss, lichen, small shells and pebbles can be added to look like a carpet and fairy pathway. Keep in an area that gets bright morning sun, and water when the soil gets dry.

Mist the moss, lichen, and fern to keep them flourishing. Your fairies will love their own little garden, and will continue to bless your garden with an array of beautiful flowers. Adding a Fairy bed would be a nice touch.

*****Making a Daisy Chain***** Daisy Chains were very popular with Victorian girls in England, as fields of daisies wee easy to find and the chains easy to make.

To fashion a daisy chain,, cut daisies off at the stem in 3”-4” lengths. At 1” up from the bottom of the stem, with a small knife (or strong fingernail) make a small vertical ˝’-3/4” slice along the middle of the stem. Widen slice to easily slip the cut end of the next daisy stem through the first sliced stem.

REPEAT until you have a chain of daisies long enough for a daisy crown or necklace. To finish off the chain, loop the final stem back through the first stem slice.
